Our Story

Elevate Your Limits, Reach Your Spire

Marcus Jorvex

Marcus Jorvex

Founder & Head Coach

Started this whole thing back in 2017 after spending years jumping between commercial gyms that just didn't get it. You know the type - all machines, mirrors, and motivational posters but zero soul.

I'd been coaching Olympic lifts and doing CrossFit competitions on the side while working a desk job that was slowly killing me. One day I just said screw it, cashed out my savings, and found this raw industrial space on Marine Drive.

The first year was rough, not gonna lie. Started with maybe 12 members who believed in what we were building. But those folks became family, and they told their friends, who told theirs.

Now we've got this incredible community of athletes, weekend warriors, and people who just wanna feel strong again. That's what Spire's really about - finding your peak, whatever that looks like for you.

What We're Actually About

Look, we're not here to sell you some fantasy transformation in 30 days or push supplements you don't need. This is a place for real work.

Our Philosophy

Training should be hard but not stupid. We push intensity but we're obsessed with proper form and injury prevention. What's the point of hitting a PR if you're gonna be on the sidelines for three months?

Every program we write is tailored. Yeah, we do group classes, but even those get scaled to where YOU are right now. Some days that means loading up the barbell, other days it means perfecting your air squat. Both are wins.

No Ego Lifting

Check your pride at the door. We'd rather see you nail the movement pattern with an empty bar than throw weight around with garbage form just to post on Instagram.

Community Matters

This isn't one of those gyms where everyone just stares at their phones between sets. We've built something special here - people actually give a damn about each other's progress.

Results Take Time

We're playing the long game here. Building real strength and conditioning isn't a sprint - it's showing up consistently and trusting the process even when it feels slow.

Movement is Medicine

Whether you're training for competition or just trying to keep up with your kids, we're here to make you more capable in life. That's the real prize.

Why We're Different

Most gyms around here are either hardcore CrossFit boxes where newbies feel intimidated, or they're fancy boutique studios charging $40 per class for what's basically a glorified cardio session.

We're somewhere in the middle. Serious about training but not pretentious about it. Our equipment is top-notch, our coaching is legit, and we actually know your name. That combo is harder to find than you'd think.
